Event Profile
The Governor's Arts Awards at ArtSalute is a biennial celebration of the
arts in Maryland and their importance to state culture. Presented by Maryland
Citizens for the Arts Foundation and the Maryland State Arts Council,
the Governor's Arts Awards are the most prestigious honors given by the
state to Maryland artists, educators, and businesses that have demonstrated
an exemplary commitment to the arts. The awards also demonstrate the relationship
among the arts, business and government and the important role that relationship
plays in building the cultural, spiritual and economic quality of life
of citizens across the State of Maryland.
