CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:
THE 6th Biennial GOVERNOR'S ARTS AWARDS at ARTSALUTE 2002

Maryland Citizens for the Arts Foundation is seeking nominations for the 6th Biennial Governor's Arts Awards. Honorees will be selected in five categories: individual artist, arts educator, arts patron, small business and large business. Nominations must be postmarked by February 1, 2002.

The Governor's Arts Awards are the most prestigious honors conferred by the state on artists, educators, patrons and businesses that have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the arts. Presented by Maryland Citizens for the Arts Foundation in association with the Maryland State Arts Council, the awards honor the relationship between the arts, business and government and the important role that relationship plays in building the cultural, spiritual and economic quality of life for citizens of Maryland.

The awards will be presented as part of the biennial ArtSalute celebration of the arts scheduled for May 8, 2002 at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore.

For nomination forms and further information, contact Maryland Citizens for the Arts Foundation, telephone: 410-203-1301, e-mail: info@mdarts.org or MD Relay 711. Nominees must be residents of Maryland or organizations located in Maryland.

Located in Ellicott City, Maryland Citizens for the Arts Foundation is dedicated to increasing public recognition and support of the arts in Maryland. It is the companion organization to Maryland Citizens for the Arts, the only statewide organization that works on behalf of all Maryland's arts organizations to promote adequate funding for the Maryland State Arts Council and support funding for the arts at the federal level.
