Maryland Citizens for the Arts Foundation is seeking nominations for
the 6th Biennial Governor's Arts Awards. Honorees will be selected in
five categories: individual artist, arts educator, arts patron, small
business and large business. Nominations must be postmarked by February
1, 2002.
The Governor's Arts Awards are the most prestigious honors conferred
by the state on artists, educators, patrons and businesses that have demonstrated
an exemplary commitment to the arts. Presented by Maryland Citizens for
the Arts Foundation in association with the Maryland State Arts Council,
the awards honor the relationship between the arts, business and government
and the important role that relationship plays in building the cultural,
spiritual and economic quality of life for citizens of Maryland.
The awards will be presented as part of the biennial ArtSalute celebration
of the arts scheduled for May 8, 2002 at the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore.

Maryland's arts organizations to promote adequate funding for the Maryland
State Arts Council and support funding for the arts at the federal level.
